Can food make you depressive?

But what about the food you swallow?

Are you ready to take the reins of your sanity yourself?

It starts with understanding how different foods affect you. Here are some of the WORST foods to eat if you’re depressed:

Refined Sugar

Refined sugars put your blood sugar on a roller coaster. When you eat it, your blood sugar levels explode. Then your body floods your body with a hormone called insulin to regain control.

Do this often and you will end up with too much insulin in your body, which has been linked to sleep problems, emotional outbursts, and other signs of depression.

A study published in the journal Public Health Nutrition found that people who eat store-bought baked goods (which are FILLED with refined sugar) are 51% more likely to be depressed than people who don’t eat them.

Processed carbohydrates

Your body breaks down processed carbohydrates extremely quickly, so eating them raises your blood sugar in the same way that eating sugary foods would …

It doesn’t matter if you eat a bagel or a candy bar. These two foods initiate the same chain reaction that leads to depression: insulin floods your body and you end up feeling nervous, tired and sad.

Hydrogenated Oils and Trans Fats

Hydrogenated oils and trans fats are restaurant favorites because they are inexpensive and can be used for long periods of time …

But they create SERIOUS health problems. These foods cause inflammation: your body literally begins to attack itself.

And inflammation leads to depression ..

Why do some people get depressed? Those who consumed trans fats were up to 48% more likely to develop depression compared to those who did not.

The types of fats you eat have a HUGE impact on your emotional health. Spanish researchers also found that people who ate more fish and olive oil (healthy fats) actually lowered their chances of developing depression.

Foods with a High Rate of Pesticide Residues

The farm uses pesticides to protect fruits and vegetables from pests, but traces of these pesticides remain on food after sale …

People think they are healthy; they eat fruits and vegetables after all!

But many don’t realize that they also consume traces of pesticides that make them depressed.

Don’t stop eating fruits and vegetables. But buy locally grown organic produce as much as possible from the supermarket or farmers market. These are full of healthy nutrients… without all the chemicals!

The key to overcoming your depression may NOT be your doctor’s office.

It could be something much simpler than that: the foods you eat.

Avoiding the above dangerous foods will go a long way in improving your mood …
